Eppendorf™ Conical Tubes™ with Snap Caps

Reduce cross-contamination and save time and space with the new conical format.

When sample volumes greater than 15mL but significantly less than 50mL need to be prepared, centrifuged, mixed or stored, there is no need to use 15mL or 50mL conical screw cap tubes. With Eppendorf Conical Snap Cap Tubes you now have a better choice:

  • Reduced height allows easy sample access even with low-volume pipettes and tips, reducing the risk of cross-contamination between pipette and tube
  • Single-handed opening and closing through the SnapTec™ cap facilitates quick liquid extraction and addition
  • 33% less storage space is required due to ∼20% lower height compared to 50mL conical tubes

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I find the right tube for my application?

Each tube must withstand different requirements for different applications. What is the difference between tubes with snap and screw cap?

Centrifuge tubes with snap caps can be opened and closed with one hand and are thus easily accessible with a needle or syringe. Tubes with screw caps offer a particularly secure closure but require both hands for handling.

What material are centrifuge tubes made of?

Centrifuge tubes are usually made of polypropylene (PP) , polyallomer (PA), polycarbonate (PC), and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Both PP and PA tubes offer good chemical resistance while PC and PET generally less chemical resistant. Consider your samples and material compatibility when selecting your centrifuge tube to make sure that the sample components will not harm the plastic tube material.
