Miniaturised qPCR Assay Setup

The Thermo Scientific Multidrop™ Pico 8 Surfactant-Free Digital Dispenser enables ultra-precise, non-contact dispensing from ~8 pL to 10 µL, ideal for miniaturising qPCR assays. With pre-programmed qPCR templates and surfactant-free cartridges it supports high-density formats, reduces reagent use by up to ten-fold and improves accuracy and throughput for assay set-up.

1. Pogo Block

Houses the pogo pins that connect the controller to the cartridge. This interface enables reagent dispensing from the cartridge to the well plate based on the software protocol and the specified volume range.

2. Cartridge Holder

Holds the single-use cartridge, available in 8- or 4-channel formats. The cartridge must be manually filled by pipetting before starting a run. It can accommodate up to eight different reagents at once.

3. Plate Carrier

Compatible with 12, 24, 48, 96, 384 and 1536-well plates, with plate heights from 6 to 47 mm used interchangeably. Includes automatic plate height detection.

4. Motorized Plate Stage

Moves the well plate within the carrier under the dispensing cartridge during operation. The stage can also perform plate shaking.
