Decontamination and Decomissioning

Our customers at the time of removing obsolete or defective equipment from the laboratory environment will need to demonstrate that there is no harm or potential harm to those handling the equipment by chemical, biological or radiological dangers.

  • Specialist Knowledge: Utilize expert knowledge of processes and conditions required for completion before disposal

Subject to the equipment, manufacturer and geographical location, Fisher Scientific offer decontamination and decommissioning.

Service Process

Step 1: Decontamination

  • Cleaning and decontamination of the equipment for all biohazards, chemical and radiological contamination

Step 2: Declaration of decontamination

  • Confirms to all parties the equipment is safe and ready for decommissioning and disassembly

Step 3: Decommissioning

  • Disconnection of all electrical/water/gases/exhaust flues
  • Full shut down of the equipment and prevention of equipment for use
