The amine-reactive BODIPY™ FL propionic acid can be used to create green-fluorescent bioconjugates following carbodiimide-activation of the carboxylic acid on the dye and reaction with amines. The electronically neutral BODIPY™ FL dye has the most fluorescein-like spectra of the green-fluorescent BODIPY™ dyes.
