Description
Thermo Scientific™ EZ-Link Amine-PEG2-Biotin is a biotinylation reagent that contains a 2-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer arm and a terminal primary amine for conjugation and protein labeling with EDC or other crosslinkers.
Amine-PEG2-Biotin and is a water-soluble biotin compound containing a polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer arm and a terminal primary amine. The hydrophilic PEG spacer arm imparts water solubility that is transferred to molecules that are conjugated to the biotin compound. The PEG spacer arm also gives this reagent a long and flexible connection to minimize steric hindrance involved with binding to avidin molecules. The amine group can be reacted with the crosslinker EDC to form conjugates with carboxylates and 5' phosphates.
Highlights:
- Use the EDC crosslinker to couple this analog to carboxyl (-COOH) groups or 5' phosphate groups
- Water-soluble, polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer arm
- PEG spacer arm transfers hydrophilicity to final conjugate
