Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody
Brand: Invitrogen™ MA560093
Description
For reconstitution, add sterile, distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of 1 mg/mL. Gently shake to solubilize the protein completely. Do not vortex. Reconstituted products should be stored at -80 °. This antibody can also be cross referenced by the term Tokai U. Patent Anti-Meflin.
Meflin, also known as ISLR (Immunoglobulin Superfamily Containing Leucine-Rich Repeat), is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein predominantly expressed in mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and fibroblasts. It is identified as a marker for mesenchymal stem cells and early progenitors with multilineage differentiation capacity. Meflin expression is observed in rare stromal cells across various tissues and plays a crucial role in maintaining the self-renewal and differentiation potential of MSCs. Notably, it is involved in the regulation of fibrosis in cardiac tissues and pancreatic stellate cells, contributing to epithelial regeneration and organ repair. Meflin knockout studies in mice indicate its significant role in preventing fibrosis and maintaining adipocyte functionality, highlighting its importance in metabolic health and disease progression related to tissue dysfunction.
