Description
Thermo Scientific™ Pierce ABC Staining Kits include reagents for the avidin-biotin complex (ABC) technique, a highly sensitive method for immunohistochemical detection with biotinylated secondary antibodies.
Highlights:
- Produce very low background staining
- Require lower primary antibody concentrations than standard methods
- Ideal for immunohistochemistry, ELISA, and Western blotting applications
ABC Kits
- Available with horseradish peroxidase
- Contain a biotinylated secondary antibody in a choice of species – the species should be selected based on the species of the primary antibody to be used
Standard Kits
- Available with a choice of alkaline phosphatase or horseradish peroxidase
- Suitable for use when an ABC kit is not available for the species of the primary antibody or if the specificity of the antibody in the kit is not appropriate for the application
- Do not include secondary antibody or blocking serum – secondary antibody and blocking serum appropriate to the application should be purchased separately
Ultrasensitive ABC Kits
- Available with horseradish peroxidase
- Provide greater sensitivity than ABC Kits without increased background staining
- Supply the extra sensitivity needed for localizing antigens present in very small quantities
- Permit approximately five-fold higher dilutions of primary antibody to be used than do ABC Kits
