Description
Tetra-n-butylphosphonium hydroxide is used for the extraction of wheat straw and dissolution of wood. It is also used to produce hydroxide ion or proton conductive ionic liquids by mixing it with benzimidazole. It can be used as a phase transfer catalyst in organic synthesis.
